I had President's Day off work, so we decided to make the most of it and take the family hiking. To accommodate the wishes of all, I had to pick something that wasn't too hard but would keep everyone entertained. I decided to do the Hieroglyphics Trail, one that I hadn't done before but seemed fairly interesting and the kids could handle it.
Kiara and Dallin actually did pretty well and Dallin even complained less than Kiara. The hike was only about 3 miles round trip, with the destination and turnaround point being some Indian petroglyphs. It was pretty cool and offered a nice little stopping point to snack and eat lunch.

Dallin is quickly becoming a master of all gaming devices. Kiara doesn't like to play against him on Wii any more because he can beat her. He knows his way around the dozens of Nintendo DS games that I have made available to them, even the ones in French. He somehow just figures out what he needs to do to accomplish the game objectives. He does pretty well on my Android phone and has since he was about 18 months old. Last summer I picked up an HP Touchpad during their fire sale with the intent of loading Android on it as soon as the Cyanogenmod guys had their version fully functional. I recently loaded Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on our Touchpad. It has a few bugs to be worked out still but it now serves a purpose for our family beyond just a casual gaming device for the kids. I loaded several games that are geared toward Android tablets and the kids wasted no time in getting up to speed with the latest and greatest.
